Thank you Clare, for developing such a thoughtful and thorough course on growing cut flowers. The extensive amount of information you’ve compiled is astounding. I wish I had had this course when I was first getting started, but even so I still feel like I have learned so many new tips, tricks and methods that I can’t wait to implement at Worlds End this coming season. I think what you’ve done in Module 7: grow is INCREDIBLE; the cost of the entire course could be for the material in this module alone! The wealth of knowledge in Garden to Vase should be useful to everyone from the first-time grower to the seasoned farmer with years of experience. The content is presented in an accessible, easy to understand format, with lots of helpful exercises and beautiful photos. I think what I appreciated most was the fact that your approach is so well rounded, in many ways permaculture-focused, highlighting the importance of overall ecosystem health and vitality. You encourage students to understand the growing condition nuances that are unique to their own gardens, which in turn forms a deeper more meaningful connection to the growing process and the flowers themselves.

Until now I’ve been self-learning piecemeal from books and seed-packets about how to grow each flower and what it needed…it’s felt overwhelming and tedious and I’ve found myself doubting whether I could start and take on a cutting garden of my own. With Garden to Vase I came away feeling not only prepared and excited to begin, but also deeply inspired! Clare’s expert approach of caring for your garden as a system from the soil to the roots up to the flowers makes so much sense, and the course offered heaps more than I expected. I can’t put a price on what I’ve learned but honestly, at this tuition, the course is a steal! And knowing that I have all the materials to refer back to makes it that much more valuable.

Clare’s Garden to Vase course has given me the confidence to create my very first cut flower garden. With little experience growing but a great love for flowers, I am now equipped to forge ahead with this wealth of information. The lessons, resources, and material are so informative, with specific details for giving the grower all the potential they need for success. I have already recommended this course to many friends, and will continue to! Happy growing! Thank you Clare!

I’m just so excited that I had to stop reading and send you a letter. This course is just the most brilliant thing. I live in the Bay Area with a dedicated area for gardening along with a few potential spots so as soon as we got settled we started digging up the dirt. Our first year was so hard with the drought and not knowing how much to water and the pests. And the soil. OMG the soil…But I wanted this year to be different. My boyfriend asked me to marry him last year and I decided to grow my own flowers. That’s how I found you! And so, here I am, reading about fungi and AEM and I just want to cry. I am so thrilled you’re a candidate for the double digging process, and I’m so loving all of this science behind the soil. Whenever I am going through something rough with my garden, I always head over to your guide and see what you have to say. More times than not you have some reassuring notes or problem solvers. Planting my spring garden in the fall has been a game changer this year! Everything is doing brilliantly and I haven’t seen very many pests (which were rampant during my first and, very frustrating year) – tulips are just popping up and I cut my first anemone bloom today! I’m positive that if I didn’t have all of the wonderful knowledge from your course I wouldn’t be where I am; very confident that I will have beautiful blooms for our wedding day. Thank you again, for your truly dedicated and beautiful work, it’s pure gold!

When I bought a rural property with a blank slate of a garden, I was excited by the prospect of growing my own flowers. 12 months, an assortment of plants and minimal success later and I stumbled across Clare’s garden-to-vase course and haven’t looked back. I found most beneficial the planning module; from that point I was able to create a small but productive garden. Clare provides ample information and examples on creating the perfect patch, from dirt and planting to bloom and harvest. There are many plants listed as suitable for cut flowers, many of which I hadn’t heard of. The course has enabled me to grow my flowers more successfully, and now as the Southern Hemisphere embraces Spring, I’m seeing some fantastic results from the material that was shared in the Garden to Vase course. It truly is a wonderful resource and I cannot recommend it highly enough!

Garden to Vase is a wonderful course. This information will serve me and my business for years to come!

The course has been a huge help to me. It’s nice to have such an in-depth gardening resource that is also from the point of view of a designer. Last year when I got home from a summer vacation the garden was wholly beyond my control, and the weeds had the last word. This season, I returned home to a sea of blooms that were well watered, standing up straight, and relatively unbothered by weeds. The lawn needed mowing but that was the only urgency beyond a huge harvest and some trellis care. I’ve learned a ton in the past year through Garden to Vase about keeping plants well supported through the season.

I thoroughly enjoyed this course. Even though I’ve studied botany, did the Master Gardener course and have been farming for 12 years, there was still lots of new information, ideas and thinking for both the new and the experienced grower. Thank you for all the work and love you have put into this course!

The Garden to Vase course has completely opened my eyes to a new approach to gardening. I’m so excited to apply what I’ve learned about building my soil and garden ecosystem and to see my garden thrive. This course has saved me countless hours of research and that alone is money very well spent. I would DEFINITELY recommend this course! It’s an incredible wealth of knowledge for gardeners of any level and because of it I know this will be my most successful gardening year yet!

As the horticulturist my garden duties are varied and cut-flowers is a newly emerging focus of my work. The information laid out in Garden to Vase is useful and applicable not only to my ornamental flower beds but also perennial areas and the vegetable garden. As a self-taugh gardener I appreciated the depth of information that Clare provides. She explains the science and theory behind soil building and microbial activity without weighing down the information with technical terms. Clare presents the importance of understanding an entire garden ecosystem before you can create beautiful blooms. This is a metaphor for her teaching method and ideaology: create a strong foundation of knowledge and skills in order to succeed in practical gardening. Truly a valuable experience and I am already putting her teachings to good use.

Studying flowers with Clare has helped me bridge several worlds in a fluid and profound way. My husband and I have an edible landscaping business, we help people grow food around their homes and businesses using a permaculture approach. I’ve always loved flowers but really felt like I didn’t have enough knowledge to grow good organic blooms, and for some reason didn’t see their place in a food garden. Through the Garden to Vase course I came to see how growing organic, and holistic flower gardens is very similar to the way we approach growing food gardens. This realization has married flowers and food for me. How could I not see before that flowers were feeding my soul and that of course they belong in a food garden? With Clare’s gentle guidance I grew my first flower and food garden with aspirations of adorning my backyard wedding, making my own bridal bouquet from flowers I grew, and feeding our guests stomachs and souls from the garden. Dahlias and sunflowers grew with squash and beans, cosmos and zinnias next to tomatoes and cucumbers. Watching bees, snakes, butterflies and bird flock into the space made me understand that not only are flowers a beautiful addition to the food garden but they are an essential element, feeding multiple species with nectar, pollen, and seeds. The garden was so abundant, healthy, and diverse; and the flowers growing were bright beacons making the space so very magical. Clare’s firm commitment to organic and regenerative practices from the garden to the vase inspires me, and helps to strengthen my own commitment to creating diverse, healthy growing conditions. Learning from her has rounded my gardening knowledge and helped to push me aesthetically in the gardens I grow; flowers are now an integral element.
